“Buyer Description”

Who is the product for? – For people who like to master any guitar or other instrumental  solo, chords, difficult phrasings, lyrics and transcribing music of any song, faster than ever before.

Riffmaster Pro is also perfect for people who like to master any guitar solo, lick or riff note for note! It can be used by beginning to advanced musicians who are serious using this as an ear training tool.

Who is the product not for?

For people who are just starting out learning music and are not yet able to read notes and chords. Since playing a solo requires some knowledge of scales and chords, it’s better to study these first before buying Riffmaster Pro. However there are always exceptions such as people who are talented enough to copy and play solos by ear.

I have tested the product myself and I find it very easy to use. No difficult sub menus to dig through, everything is set up in such a way that one can start working with it in minutes. Almost all features work instantly, so no waiting.

I think it is also suitable for arrangers who like to transcribe melodies, chords and lyrics or even the background, like the string section, of an arrangement. These can all be slowed down so it will be easier to analyze and transcribe.

There are times when you might want to speed up a recording, e.g. you would like to speed up your instrumental exercises because you mastered them and want to play faster.

When purchasing Riffmaster Pro, you will get an exclusive bonus package, worth $268. This will include:

  1. How to Tune Your Guitar e-book
  2. How to Read Music e-book
  3. Report: Buying The Right Guitar For You
  4. Report : Warning , What to look out for when buying a guitar online
  5. Quick Start Rock Jam Tracks: FREE mp3 Backing tracks! Volume 1 & Volume 2
  6. The 15 Essential Chords: E-book for beginner Guitarists.
  7. Printable tab sheet, chord grids, fretboard templates and a guitar success chart
  8. Killer Warm Up Exercises

Riffmaster Pro 3

Lastly I would like to mention the warm and good service you will receive from Heath Nicholson. He is not only a very nice person but loves to help you out when you are stranded with Riffmaster Pro.

Mostly I’m very positive about this product, however there are a few things which could be improved.

As I said earlier on, almost all Riffmaster Pro’s features load instantly expect songs, this takes a bit longer depending on the processor’s speed of your computer. Windows 7 and 8 load relatively fast, but XP takes more time (but still acceptable).

Depending on what kind of recording you are using, in some instances the super vocal reducer doesn’t work. Only on some recordings though, especially those from the 60’s where the vocals are often panned to the far left or right.

An example of this is “Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band” (title song) by The Beatles. Nowadays most vocals are panned in the middle or are stereo overdubbed and the vocal reducer works fine here.

Also be careful when increasing the gain of the super vocal reducer, shifting the slider too much to the + sign might cause distortion.

When using both the speed and pitch controls at the same time, lets say you slowed down the recording but at the same time you notched up the pitch 4 semitones, the quality deteriorates somewhat.

However it is still acceptable for mastering or transcribing solos. It also depends on the quality of the recording itself, e.g. wave files will have a higher quality than mp3’s.

“Versions and Pricing”

Riffmaster Pro versions are available in Windows xp/7/8, Mac and iPhone/iPad and you can either download the free 10 – day trial or purchase the full version with a 60 day money-back guarantee. It is only available as a digital download.

60 day money back gaurantee

The paid version costs $49 and you can pay through paypal who accepts the following credit cards: Master Card, Visa, American Express and Discover.

“Closing Thoughts”

After testing this product I came to the following conclusion:

  • Almost all features work great
  • Easy to operate console
  • Quality of the recording remains excellent when reducing or increasing speed while maintaining the pitch
  • This applies also for shifting up or down the pitch while maintaining the same speed
  • It is definitely worth its value for what it is advertised
  • The price of $49 is very acceptable, especially with the added bonus package
  • Excellent product for musicians who like to master melodies, chords and solos in any kind of music style.
  • Good instruction videos on how to operate Riffmaster Pro
  • Fast and friendly personal service

Hi Heath,
The riffmaster is helping me make huge strides in my guitar playing (mostly with Garcia and Anastasio solos I could never quite pin down) considering I’m self-taught.
I want to thank you for your prompt response and courtesy. Thanks very much.

How do I get my application reviewed on your site?

  • By Hans, September 18, 2013 @ 6:07 pm

    Hi Alexander,

Thanks for your interest in my site and reviews. Let me think about this and
in a few days I will get back to you.

    With friendly greetings,

  • By Bytor, September 20, 2013 @ 6:36 pm

would it be beneficial for bassists?

  • By Hans, September 20, 2013 @ 10:06 pm

    Hi Bytor,

Yes it definitely would. If you would like to transcribe bass lines or play along with existing ones you could slow down the recording while the pitch stays the same. There would be hardly any quality loss (it also depends on the quality of your own recording of course).
Next to piano/keyboards I also play bass guitar and use it sometimes for speeding up audio bass exercises.
Furthermore you could always download the demo version and see if you like it.

    Take care, Hans
